Wine Not?

So I just turned 21 a few months ago and the most experience I have with wine is when I was 15 I took the wrong communion drink (that was unexpected). Besides that, I've never really drank it before. My parents aren't really what I would call the "Wine Connoisseurs", I am ashamed to say that on frequent occasions I see boxed wine sitting in my fridge at home... I don't know a lot about wine, but I don't think boxed wine is the best wine out there. My parents also buy the Trader Joe's wine that goes on sale for a couple dollars a bottle, and to me it smells like straight vinegar so I refuse to even try it. So basically, I haven't had the best role models for wine drinkers! My parents like whats cheap, not necessarily what tastes the best.

As I said, I'm not that familiar with wine, but I want to be! All of my friends rave about it, and it just looks so dang fancy. I want to be a part of the Wine Club, and with this class I get to be! I don't really drink too often, but when I do I tend to like things on the bubbly side. Champagne is my favorite thing to drink because it's not too sweet, and its not too bitter. I have tasted Sparkling Wine, which I thought was down right tasty! I don't like vinegary drinks, bitter drinks, or anything ridiculously sweet. But besides those things, I don't know what else I like or I don't like!

My lack of Wine experience is one of the main reasons I took this class. I wanted to learn what wine was good, how to pair it, and in general just learn about all the different kinds of wine that are out there! I think this class will better prepare me on tasting of wine than my parents ever could, and hopefully I like it! But I at least know my first sip of wine isn't going to be coming from a boxed wine in my fridge, or the Trader Joe's down the street! So when I was thinking of joining this class I asked myself, Wine not? :)
